Elizabeth Glattli's Baptism

These pictures are from Elizabeth Glattli's baptism.
She is a very special lady that Elder Walbeck and Espinola found and taught her and she was going to be baptized in 2 days and then she had some questions about tithing and it took her some time to figure out that she could pay tithing and still survive. Summer came and the Elder's were transferred and the Hermana's tried to reach Elizabeth but it took 6 weeks before they were able to connect. Elizabeth accepted their challenge to be baptized and it happened tonight February 6th 2010. It was even more special for me because Elizabeth asked me to baptize her. I practiced the Baptism prayer in Spanish and got it right the first time. Elizabeth was a bit nervous and forgot to plug her nose before she went under but she did not come up sputtering. It was a wonderful experience and Elizabeth is very happy. After we changed our clothes, we were walking back to the Chapel she said that she was just floating on air she was so happy! It has been wonderful to be a part of bringing her to Gospel of Jesus Christ! I confirmed her a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and bestow the Holy Ghost on her. She has been so excited to have the Holy Ghost as a constant companion. She has to live worthy to have him as a constant companion but he will be there for her to guide and teach her. We are very excited to have her as a member of our Branch. She will be a great asset to the Branch.
Left to Right: Hermana Orme, Smoot Elizabeth, Elder Hegerhorst and Hermana Hegerhorst

Members of the Branch and Elizabeth's grandsons and girl friend and some investigators.

Hna. Smoot and Orme are so energetic! They organize a Family Home Evening every week at one of the members homes. This one is at Maria Fabra's home. She is the older lady to the right of Dans head.

This is one of our favorite little Panadaria's. It's a bit of a bike ride out to it, but it is worth it. It's not much to look at but the bread is good!

It was Rubens Birthday Day February 3. We had a carpenter make this easel for him to use while he paints. We helped him get it set up at his house.

We had a big dinner at our house on Rubens Birthday! It was the same day that Elizabeth Glattli was having her baptism interview. The Elders from Castillos came over to interview her and we like to give them lunch when they come. Elizabeth came, and we invited our new senior couple the Taylors to come also. They are from Kansas and he is the new Branch President in Castillos. So starting with Dan behind him is Elder Taylor, in front of Dan is Elizabeth, she was baptized Saturday night, Hna. Taylor, Hna. Smoot, Ruben, Janice, Elder Ferman, Elder Drapper, Hna. Orme.
Ruben was so excited to get this easel for his Birthday. The Taylor's can speak Spanish so they were talking all about it. It was so fun to see him get so excited.

This is at Gabriels baptism. He is 11 and Ruben baptized him. He knelt down in the font and was able to do the baptism. Elder Castillos stood by him so he wouldn't fall over. It was really neat.
